Support LambdaRogue

A small donation for the game's future – and your very own NPC

Dear LambdaRogue players,

asking for donations is not something I do easily, esp. not for activities which once started as fun project. However, although this is still a freetime project, everything has become rather big – both in terms of time and cost.

On the one hand, my daily job does not allow me to put as much time as before into interface and graphics creation. The sparse time I have I want to put into gameplay and story, to improve the game itself.

On the other hand, my own aspirations have grown over time, both regarding quality of gameplay, and overall style and look & feel.

This leaves me in a situation where I try to create a better gaming experience in less time, but with higher costs. As it's not possible to do this on my own, I have to give certain parts of the job to professionals, which started in update 1.6.1 with the new 20x40 tileset and the effect icons. While professional artists work on visuals and sound in a guaranteed time frame, I can focus on game mechanics, quests, AI, etc.

Upcoming development activities requiring money are graphics creation (esp. a new 40x80 tileset based on the new 20x40 set, better interface graphics, NPC portraits, and story artwork consistent with the other graphics), music composition (a unique soundtrack for LambdaRogue), sound editing (more and higher quality sound effects), and proof reading texts (English is not my 1st language). With enough funds, all these activities can be done by professionals, instead of myself, leading to much better results. In addition, I have server costs.

If you like LambdaRogue, and if you like it to receive updates also in the upcoming years, you can support me with donating even a small amount of money. You can simply use the Donate button on the right, which will lead you to PayPal. There, you can enter any amount you like.

And the best thing is: All donators get their own NPC included in the game.

I honestly thank you.

Mario
